MARCY HAAS '18L

Marcy Haas ’18L, an honorably discharged Navy Veteran, works for the Department of Homeland Security, Citizenship and Immigration Services, serves as the secretary of the @DoaneUniversity Alumni Council, and owns her own business, Sweet Things.

CASEY CLARK '16

Casey Clark '16 played for @doane_soccer, where he was named captain, became the program’s 1st player to receive national honors, & was named the MVP. Since Doane, he has played soccer professionally and created @KeeperWars to help goalkeepers.

AMY HUNG '16, '18E

Amy Hung '16, '18E moved to Crete, Nebraska from Taiwan with her family when she was seven years old. Growing up in Crete, Doane was naturally an extension of "home" to Amy, and she would enroll on campus upon graduating high school. Amy earned her bachelor's degree in math with a secondary teaching endorsement before earning her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane's Lincoln campus. Amy teaches at Lincoln High and has returned to Doane as a mentor for Noyce Scholars in Project SERVE.

KAMLEH SHABAN '06

Kamleh Shaban '06 graduated from Doane with a major in honors biology and a minor in Spanish. As a Fulbright Scholar, she spent 9 months in Jordan where she studied Islamic Medical Ethics before returning back to the states, where she now works Children's Hospital Colorado in psychiatry. Kamleh is focusing her teaching on anti-racism work, bias training, and understanding/de-stigmatizing mental illness with the goal of fair and equitable health for everyone.

AMY BECK '98

Amy Beck '98 came to Doane to study both English and theatre, and found a true home within the theare department—and friends that would last for a lifetime. She and her wife are now foster parents with a son of their own, and after many years spent as a Theatre for Social Change artist and directing various LGBTQ youth theatre programs, Beck now works within the juvenile court system.

DR. BRUCE SHEFFIELD '69

Bruce Sheffield ’69, pictured alongside Katie Coble ’20, came to Doane by way of Omaha North High School after being recruited by legendary coaches Al Papik '50 & Fred Beile. He would excel on the Doane Track and Cross Country teams and major in biology while at Doane. He would then move into the field of pediatrics, where he'd practice until retirement in 2008.

MAR'LAKUITTIA OVERSTREET '15

Mar'Lakuittia Overstreet majored in English with endorsements in English Language Learners and Secondary Education. She will be starting this fall at Lincoln North Star as the English Language Learner Team Leader.

DREW DENKER '07

Drew Denker, Doane's first-ever Journalism graduate (Dec. '07), is entering his 2nd season as the PA announcer for Husker Softball and his 3rd season for Nebraska Swimming & Diving. He also serves or has served as the PA announcer for many other sports/events. He and his wife Jessy Livers Denker '10, '13E have two beautiful daughters.

MEGHAN KISSEL FARQUHAR '10

Meghan Kissel Farquhar '10 was heavily involved in activities and honor societies during her time at Doane. She now works for Nebraska Methodist Health System in the NICU. She earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice this past May.

BRYSHONNE BRYANT '04

Bryshonne Bryant was a star men's basketball player at Doane. Now he's teaching young men at his former high school in Arizona and has a lot of praise for his alma mater and those who helped him graduate. 

MARYSOL CAZARES ’11, ’17C

Marysol Cazares grew in up Juarez, Mexico until she was 10, when she moved to El Paso. Juarez has long been considered one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Coming from a location such as this, Marysol has spent her life doing her best to be a part of the solution.

ZACH KUCERA '16

Zach Kucera suffered a back injury while on the baseball team at Doane, and was told it would likely lead to the end of his baseball career as well as all other recreational activities. After a full course of chiropractic care, he returned to the team. Dr. Kucera now owns his own chiropractic center.

BREANNA CARODINE '12

Bre Carodine is a Happiness Engineer at Flywheel. You read that right... That's her job title. But what makes Bre happy is to lead “Rise”, Flywheel’s employee resource group for people of color. 

TRISTAN JOHNSON ’04

Tristan Johnson ’04 considers himself blessed to serve as the executive director of the ELITE Men’s Ministry at his non-denominational church in Colorado. Tristan mentors this ministry of men in a way that helps them set the course for a legacy that impacts current and future generations of their families.
