Dr. Andrew D. Feyes serves Doane University as the Director of Instrumental Music. In this role he leads the Doane Concert Band and Tiger Pep Band while instructing courses in instrumental music methods, conducting, and applied trumpet. Dr. Feyes holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Bowling Green State University (OH), and both a Master of Music in Wind Band Conducting and a Ph.D. in Music Education from Kansas State University.


Before arriving at Doane, Feyes served as Assistant Director of Bands at The University of Akron where he led the 250-member UA Marching Band, the UA Blue and Gold Brass Basketball Pep Band, and conducted UA’s Symphony and University Bands, while also instructing courses in conducting and music education.


As a conductor and trumpeter Feyes has performed in Greece, New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, and France, as well as state and national conferences. He has presented clinics on score study, assessment, brass pedagogy, and marching band at the Ohio Music Education Association PDC, Kansas Music Education Association PDC, Kansas State Concert Band Clinic, and the 3rd International Symposium on Assessment in Music Education at the University of Bremen, Germany. Andrew is married to Kelsey Feyes, a Special Educator in Crete Public Schools, and together they have two daughters, Clara Jo and Alexandra.
