Opportunities

As a SUCCESS Scholar, you will experience individualized mentorship, participate in cutting-edge research, and explore educational opportunities that guide your path to a STEM career. 

Financial Support

As a SUCCESS Scholar, you will receive annual scholarships up to $7,800 to cover unmet financial need. (The exact scholarship amount is based on information from the FAFSA and other scholarships received from Doane.)

First-year Living-Learning Community

All first-year SUCCESS Scholars live in a Living-Learning community with a live-in peer mentor.

Common Coursework

All first-year SUCCESS Scholars enroll in the same LAR 101 section to begin their liberal arts education through college-level writing, discussion, critical thinking, and critical reading. Students learn information research skills and work collaboratively to gain an appreciation for interdisciplinary study and multiple perspectives.

Each semester, SUCCESS Scholars will participate in SUCCESS STEMinars covering topics such as new scientific discoveries and their interdisciplinary nature, career preparation, and graduate school preparation.

Advising and Mentoring

All SUCCESS Scholars are advised and mentored by faculty in the program to develop individual plans of courses and experiences at Doane to prepare them for careers or graduate studies.

Research and Internships

All SUCCESS Scholars are given opportunities to be part of multiple research projects or internships.
